VLSIChaps was born from a simple observation: the semiconductor industry is incredibly specialized, yet its community infrastructure was fragmented and hard to navigate.
In 2022, a small group of VLSI engineers — frustrated by scattered resources, poor career guidance, and the lack of a focused community — started a Telegram group. The idea was simple: one place where chip designers, verification engineers, DFT experts, and AI researchers could talk shop, share opportunities, and grow together.
That group grew. Fast. Within months, it had hundreds of members. Within a year, thousands. Today, VLSIChaps is the world’s largest community at the intersection of VLSI engineering and artificial intelligence — with members from Intel, Qualcomm, NVIDIA, AMD, Arm, TSMC, Samsung, and hundreds of EDA startups and academic institutions worldwide.
We believe that the semiconductor revolution — powering AI chips, autonomous vehicles, and quantum computing — deserves a community as sophisticated and technical as the engineering itself.
No surface-level content. VLSIChaps goes deep — RTL coding, UVM frameworks, formal verification, AI-driven EDA, silicon architecture.
Engineers from 80+ countries. Diverse viewpoints on design methodologies, industry trends, and career paths across geographies.
AI is transforming chip design. We’re at the frontier — exploring LLMs for RTL, ML in verification, and the convergence of silicon and intelligence.
Everything we create — resources, insights, career guides — is freely shared. The semiconductor community grows when knowledge flows freely.
“To build the world’s most impactful ecosystem for semiconductor and AI engineers — where every chip designer, from student to principal engineer, has access to the knowledge, connections, and opportunities they need to build the future of silicon.”
